Chronicle

The Aufwind Engineering GmbH was founded by Bernhard Gubo and Ferdinand Schmack in 1995. It is a developing and operating company and works for the realization of projects in the field of renewable energies.

Due to its growing volume of business and high demands on part of the investors, in 2008 the Aufwind Engineering GmbH found itself in the position of splitting up its single divisions wind energy, bio gas and geothermal energy.

Meanwhile the area of geothermal energy was handed over to an English investment company as majority shareholder and stayed there for a certain period of time. The division of bio gas, part of the Aufwind Neue Energien GmbH, took a stake in the Baywa r.e. GmbH, also as a majority shareholder.

The development of the wind farms took place within the Aufwind Schmack Planungsgesellschaft mbH. This corporation was replaced by the contemporary Aufwind Engineering GmbH in 2008 which is directed by Ferdinand Schmack and Michael Kabourek.

Due to its early and innovative expansion into the CEE area, Aufwind is one of the pioneers in the field of wind farm developers in Germany, providing with international experience and references.
